Forbidden city 故宫, Beijing, China

The Forbidden City covers 74 hectares (183 acres), which is called the Palace Museum now, was the imperial palace of Ming and Qing dynasties. Its construction began in 1406, so it has a history of nearly 600 years and 24 emperors ruled the whole country from here for nearly 500 years. It was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1987.
